Only Coventry's Conservatives can be trusted to protect the City's Green Belt

Coventry Conservative's were shocked to see that the Labour Party Manifesto makes no mention of protecting the Green Belt, while the Coventry Labour Council have put green belt land in their local plan - which means it is no longer protected from development.

"Once the green belt has been developed it is gone for good," explained Gary Ridley, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Coventry South. "We have to prioritise building on the City's brown field sites and make sure we effectively use the land to maximise the space so we can ensure homes for the City resident's that need them," continued Parvez Akhtar, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Coventry North West that includes the very rural Bablake ward. "Only the Conservative Party working together at national and local level will guarantee the future of the City's precious green belt land, concluded Michelle Lowe, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Coventry North East where Hungerley Hall Farm (the green belt land at the back of the hospital) is under threat of development.
